Shaikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, Minister of Information and Culture, held talks with Fiona Fraser, Human Rights Representative of the UNAMA office, regarding the state of the media in Afghanistan, human rights, and the preservation of historical heritage sites.
Ms. Fraser underscored the importance of continued support for the media and described the issuance of decrees by His Eminence, Amir al-Mu’mineen (may Allah protect him), concerning the protection of human rights as a constructive measure. She further stated that investigations are ongoing into the recent attack on the addiction treatment hospital.
The Minister of Information and Culture stated that the Ministry supports the media in accordance with the law, maintains ongoing coordination with media outlets on the basis of established principles, and will continue efforts toward improving the economic situation.
