Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, discussed regional developments and the consequences of the military aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran during a telephone conversation.
According to Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araghchi condemned the actions of the United States and several other countries at the UN Security Council aimed at increasing pressure on Iran.
He stated that instead of fulfilling its responsibility to safeguard international peace and security, the Security Council has ignored the main perpetrators of aggression — the United States and Israel — and has blamed Iran.
Araghchi added: “Iran seriously expects the members of the Security Council, especially China and Russia, to prevent the continued misuse of the Council by the United States.”
