Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has said that Tehran will never surrender to Washington and warned that Iran is fully prepared to defend itself if the United States violates existing agreements.
“We have never stopped preparing to defend the country, and if the Americans violate the existing understanding, we are ready for full defense at any moment,” Qalibaf said.
He added that ending the conflict is a priority for many countries, but insisted that any resolution would not come through Iran’s surrender.
Mr. Qalibaf’s remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump previously claimed that Tehran and Washington had reached an understanding to continue negotiations following a ceasefire.
