Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with Dmitry Zhirnov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, in Kabul.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zhirnov formally conveyed the decision of the Russian government to recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
The Russian envoy described this decision as a historic step toward strengthening bilateral relations between Moscow and Kabul.
In response, Minister Muttaqi welcomed the recognition and characterized it as the beginning of a new phase of positive relations, mutual respect, and constructive engagement between the two countries.
