United Nations Security Council for the first time approved the immediate ceasefire resolution in Gaza. All members of the Security Council, except the United States, voted positively for this resolution, and the United States abstained instead of casting a negative vote, contrary to its previous position. Before this, the Security Council rejected ceasefire plans related to Gaza several times. This plan, presented by Algeria, has been requested by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Gutiérrez, to be implemented as soon as possible. According to this plan and resolution, an immediate ceasefire will be established in Gaza, all prisoners will be released without any conditions, and people’s access to humanitarian aid will be guaranteed.
