A high-level delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Baradar Akhund conveyed condolences to the government and people of Iran and underscored the shared interests of the two countries. He reiterated that the Islamic Emirate considers the US and Israeli attacks on Iran illegitimate and condemned them.
For his part, the Iranian President emphasized the close and friendly relations between Iran and Afghanistan, describing the expansion of ties with Afghanistan as a key priority for Tehran. He also stressed the importance of making full use of available opportunities to advance mutual interests.
