Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan Deputy Minister for Health Services, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, said during a ceremony marking World Thalassemia Day that the Islamic Emirate has given special attention to the treatment of thalassemia.
He stated that specialized hospitals have been established in Kabul and several provinces to provide treatment for patients suffering from the disease. Mr. Haqqani also emphasized that thalassemia patients require long-term care and said the ministry remains committed to improving diagnosis and treatment services.
