The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has released an American national named Dennis Coyle, who had been detained for violating the prevailing laws of Afghanistan.
The family of the detainee, in light of the blessed days of Eid, submitted a request of compassion and pardon to the respected leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, seeking his release.
The esteemed Supreme Court deemed his previous period of detention sufficient, and he was handed over to his family today in Kabul.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan emphasized that this step was taken out of goodwill and humanitarian considerations, believing that such measures can further strengthen the atmosphere of trust between countries.
It also expressed hope that the two countries will find solutions to remaining issues in the future through mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan extended its appreciation to the brotherly United Arab Emirates for facilitating and cooperating in this process
