A delegation from the Nimroz provincial government held a joint meeting with officials from Iran’s Zahedan province in Bandar Milk to discuss transit, trade, visa issuance for Afghan travelers, anti-smuggling measures, and broader border cooperation.
According to the Nimroz provincial government’s media office, the meeting resulted in agreements to allow oil tankers from both sides to pass through and to open the Silk Bridge for transit traffic.
The Afghan delegation also raised concerns about difficulties faced by Afghan travelers in obtaining visas and urged Iranian authorities to take serious action to resolve the issue.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued cooperation in transit, transport, and other related sectors, with Iranian officials pledging to address the problems raised.
