French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will intensify its humanitarian operations in Gaza following the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt.
Speaking to reporters at the airport after the summit on Monday, Macron said he was encouraged by the continued observance of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and welcomed the release of 20 Israeli hostages by the Palestinian group.
He noted that all hostages had been freed and that aid efforts in Gaza were already underway “with greater intensity than planned,” adding that France would further accelerate its humanitarian response starting Tuesday.
Macron emphasized that France would work closely with the United States and Israel to ensure the safe, continuous, and unhindered delivery of aid to the enclave.
