Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Turhan Saleh, the newly appointed Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the two sides discussed UN development activities in Afghanistan, the reintegration of returnees, cooperation in the health and agriculture sectors, alternative cultivation programs for narcotics, environmental protection, climate change, and measures to address natural disasters.
Mr. Muttaqi underscored the importance of implementing development and infrastructure projects alongside humanitarian assistance, stating that the Islamic Emirate is committed to continuing its cooperation with the United Nations in these areas.
Meanwhile, Turhan Saleh assured that the United Nations Development Programme will continue its cooperation based on the needs of the Afghan people, particularly in the areas of development projects and capacity building.
