Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Faisal Talq Al-Baqmi, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Kabul, to discuss regional developments and the Urumqi negotiations.
During the meeting, the Saudi ambassador stated that Afghanistan’s political and security stability, as well as its economic progress, are of particular importance to the Kingdom, affirming that Riyadh supports Afghanistan in these areas.
In response, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, referring to recent talks with Pakistan, expressed hope that minor technical issues and differing interpretations would not hinder the progress of the negotiations.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized the need to further expand political, security, and economic relations between Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia
