Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and the International Islamic Welfare Organization signed a memorandum of understanding

Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority and the International Islamic Welfare Organization signed a memorandum of understanding worth $3,441,346 for the implementation of 60 small-scale infrastructure projects in the eastern region of the country.

This morning, Sunday, the acting head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with the president of the International Islamic Welfare Organization, Muhammad Zulkarnain Abbas, in his office and signed the MOU for collaboration on building retaining walls and check dams in the eastern region.

Turabi Sahb welcomed the President of the organization, called for greater efforts in serving the people, and received detailed information about the planned project.

At the same time, Muhammad Zulkarnain Abbas expressed his gratitude to the acting head of the Authority for facilitating cooperation with organizations and provided detailed insights about the project.

He also emphasized that the organization would make further efforts to implement fundamental programs in the future.

It is worth mentioning that, under this MOU, the organization will implement 60 small to medium-scale risk reduction projects, including retaining walls and check dams, tailored to the needs of communities and determined through surveys, in Laghman and Kunar provinces, with a total budget of $3,441,346.

Additionally, as part of this project, risk reduction committees will be established in 60 villages of Alishing and Alingar districts of Laghman province and Sarkano and Nurgal districts of Kunar province.

Capacity-building workshops will be conducted, and these committees will be provided with risk reduction tools.
