His Highness Shaikh-ul-Quran wal-Hadith, Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, may Allah protect him, led the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer this morning at the central Eidgah in Kandahar. He extended his congratulations to the congregation on Eid and prayed for the acceptance of their fasting, Taraweeh prayers, Quran recitations, Zakat-ul-Fitr, and other acts of devotion, emphasizing that both financial and physical forms of worship should be observed on this blessed day.
His Highness Amir-ul-Mumineen, may Allah protect him, emphasized that withholding inheritance or dowry from women is a manifestation of stinginess and greed, whereas assisting those in need protects one from such vices in this world and from severe punishment in the Hereafter.
He further highlighted that hoarding constitutes a grave sin, urging pious traders and wealthy individuals to refrain from it. Wealth should be shared with fellow Muslims so that they may pray for you and that Allah may bestow mercy, blessings, and reward.
His Highness Amir-ul-Mumineen underscored the importance of showing mercy and kindness to all Muslims, avoiding any form of hardship toward them. He urged that all interactions, charitable acts, and family relations be conducted with compassion, and emphasized the responsibility of nurturing children with proper manners, religious knowledge, education, Islamic ethics, and care.
He highlighted Afghanistan’s rich Islamic heritage, recalling that previous generations were noble and virtuous. He noted that prior to the establishment of formal schools, Taliban members, alongside local communities, pursued education in mosques, and he encouraged the continuation of this important tradition.
His Highness Amir-ul-Mumineen, may Allah protect him, stated that when British and Russian forces invaded Afghanistan, the people resisted and defeated them. He added that in recent years, American forces also entered the country and were defeated through the blessings of faith. He affirmed that Afghanistan is now free under its current system and warned that ingratitude could lead to humiliation, including the potential loss of freedom of speech.
He stated that laws and decrees are enacted in accordance with Allah’s commands and affirmed that devotion to Allah, religion, and Sharia will remain steadfast. He prayed for success in all trials, noting that hardships are divinely ordained and that reliance on Allah ensures steadfastness and resilience.
His Highness Amir-ul-Mumineen, may Allah protect him, declared that he is the leader of Muslims and will guide them on the path of Allah. He affirmed that the goal is the reform of Muslims and the revival of religion, urging all to align with the directives and laws of the Islamic Emirate. He emphasized that unity and solidarity, achieved through adherence to these principles, provide divine protection and recalled that this unity was instrumental in overcoming Western aggression. He called on all to remain united in brotherhood.
He further emphasized that officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan are citizens of this country, born and raised locally, and urged the public to unite with them, as the Emirate represents their own governance. He also directed officials not to treat the people as outsiders, but to administer justice, serve sincerely, and maintain unity.
His Highness Amir-ul-Mumineen cautioned that enemies seek to create division and called for vigilance in protecting the minds of youth and the general public. He affirmed that external forces cannot destroy the nation through bombs or artillery, noting that if they could, previous invaders such as the Soviets and Americans would have succeeded. He assured that steadfastness in religion and Islam will safeguard both the system and the people.
Concluding his address, he prayed for success in ongoing trials and urged the people to be grateful for security and governance, to refrain from oppression and hoarding, uphold justice, and support one another. He wished all a blessed Eid and prayed that Allah liberates Muslims worldwide, including those in Palestine, from oppression and preserves their dignity and honor.
