Putin was elected to Russian presidency for the fifth time

This marks the fifth time in the last 25 years that Putin has assumed power, with his initial presidency beginning in 1999. The Central Election Commission of Russia has reported a voter turnout of 70 percent among eligible individuals during the three-day presidential election.
